JANUARY 2009 NEVADA DISCOVERY MUSEUM FUNDRAISING UPDATE
December 2008 began as a fundraising sprint to $10 million, and the Nevada Discovery Museum is pleased to announce that we began 2009 having surpassed that goal.

It is important to recognize the generosity and hard work of those who helped get us here. Specifically, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to: Norm Dianda and family for including us in their holiday giving and recognizing the museum in Q&D Construction's holiday card; Caryn Swobe for her dedication and leadership and generous year-end contribution; IGT for their support of our technology exhibits, despite a tough year; Alice Heiman for dedicating her 50th Birthday party to the museum and her father and step-mother, Steve and Diane Heiman, for their generous gift in Alice's name; Nello Gonfiantini and the Starfish Foundation for a bighearted contribution; and to Klaus and Kristin Grimm for their commitment that officially put museum fundraising over the $10 million mark. Lastly, this remarkable milestone would not have been possible without the continued support of the Redfield Foundation and an anonymous $1 million donation this month.

Our successful December has launched the Nevada Discovery Museum into 2009, full-steam ahead, as we continue to Believe in Up.

We would also very much like to thank our staff, Lynne Sunderman, Gretchen Bietz and Megan Meranda, for their tireless efforts. We also like to recognize our outstanding board of directors who donated more than 6,000 hours in 2008.
