Unaccompanied Minors
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, children age 15 and under are not permitted to enter or remain in the museum without the supervision of an adult (age 18 or older). The Discovery requires that adults remain with and actively supervise children at all times.

Service Animals
In compliance with the ADA, service dogs trained to do work or perform specific tasks for a guest with a disability are welcome in The Discovery. Emotional support animals and pets are NOT permitted.

Discounts and Other Admission Types

$5 after 4:00pm

Every Wednesday beginning at 4:00pm, museum admission is just $5 per person and the museum is open until 8:00pm! Check out the calendar of events for additional details.

UNR and TMCC Students

The Discovery offers free admission to students who attend Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno and present a valid student ID.

Veterans and Active Duty Military

The Discovery offers a discount of $1 off general admission per visitor for groups accompanied by a Veteran or Active Duty member of the military.

ASTC Passport Program (reciprocal admission)

The Discovery participates in the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) reciprocal admission program. Find out more here.

Basic directions

From I-80 East
Exit at N. Sierra Street (Exit 13) and turn right, heading south. Drive approximately 1 mile and turn left on Liberty Street, heading east. Drive three blocks and turn right, heading south, on Sinclair Street. Enter parking lot immediately on the right.

From I-80 West
Exit at N. Virginia Street (Exit 13) and proceed to N. Sierra Street. Turn left on N. Sierra, heading south. Drive approximately 1 mile and turn left on Liberty Street, heading east. Drive three blocks and turn right, heading south, on Sinclair Street. Enter parking lot immediately on the right.

From Hwy 395 North
Exit at Mill Street (Exit 66) and turn left, heading west. Drive approximately .5 miles and make a slight left turn onto Ryland Street. After approximately .5 miles, make a slight left turn onto E. Liberty Street. After .2 miles, turn left on Sinclair Street, heading south. Enter parking lot immediately on the right.

From Hwy 395 South
